Historical Background

NSDAP daggers were not combat knives but ceremonial sidearms, worn as symbols of rank, loyalty, and status within the party organizations. They were often awarded with certificates and served as visible signs of affiliation.

Production was mainly based in Solingen with famous makers such as Carl Eickhorn, WKC, E.&F. Hörster, F.W. Höller, Puma, Robert Klaas, Böker and Carl Julius Krebs. Logos, RZM codes (M7/..), grip inlays, and scabbard fittings are essential identification features for collectors.

Collector’s Tips

• Early nickel fittings and deeply etched motto blades are especially sought after.
• Look for correct RZM M7/.. markings and manufacturer logos to confirm authenticity.
• Original Hitler Youth knives with “Blut und Ehre” motto (before 1938) are considered rare.
