SS Dagger [Early Model] by Heinrich Böker Solingen
Early SS service dagger model 1933 of the Schutzstaffel (SS), manufactured by Heinrich Böker (Tree Brand), Solingen. The piece displays the characteristic features of the early production period and is overall preserved in very good condition.
Grip: Ebony grip in classic early configuration. Fitted are the nickel national eagle and, above it, the enameled SS emblem, both period-correct and clamped from the inside. The crossguards are made of nickel silver, corresponding to the high-grade material choice of the early production years.
Blade: Bright blade in exceptionally attractive preserved condition with 100% crossgrain remaining. On the front is the SS motto “Meine Ehre heißt Treue” in a deep and sharply angular etch. The reverse bears the maker’s mark “Heinrich Böker (Tree Brand), Solingen”. Overall, a very appealing early blade with excellent visual character.
Scabbard: Iron scabbard with black blued finish. The two fittings are made of nickel-plated sheet steel and are each secured laterally with two screws. The upper fitting carries the suspension ring for the hanger. In both form and appearance, the scabbard matches the early dagger very well.
Historical Context: Early SS service dagger model 1933
The SS service dagger model 1933 is among the best-known edged weapons of the early National Socialist organizational period. Early examples are often characterized by high-grade manufacture with nickel silver fittings, ebony grips, and strongly etched blades. Precisely these early pieces hold a special place among collectors.
Characteristic is the motto “Meine Ehre heißt Treue”, which forms a fixed part of the appearance of these daggers. Equally important for classification are maker-related features and the overall quality of execution. Producers such as Heinrich Böker (Tree Brand), Solingen belong among the recognized names within early SS dagger production.
In well-preserved and coherent condition, with a period-typical blade, early material configuration, and matching scabbard, such an SS service dagger belongs among the classic and highly sought-after pieces of historic German edged weapons.
