Blade: Well preserved double-edged blade. The obverse features the deeply etched SA motto “Alles für Deutschland”. The reverse bears the maker’s mark “Tiger Solingen”.

Scabbard: Iron scabbard with original blued finish. The fittings are made of nickel-plated steel and are each secured with two side screws.

Historical Background: Early SA Service Dagger 1933–1935

The SA service dagger was introduced in 1933 as a symbolic sidearm of the Sturmabteilung (SA), stylistically inspired by historical Renaissance daggers. Early production examples until about 1935 are characterized by high-quality materials such as nickel fittings and carefully finished blades.

The group markings stamped into the crossguard served organizational identification within regional SA units. The marking “Ns” refers to the SA Group Niedersachsen.

Manufacturers such as Tiger Solingen were among the known producers of SA edged weapons. Early examples with clear group markings and period hangers are today considered desirable collector pieces within the field of German edged weapons of the 20th century.
