Early SA Service Dagger from the production period 1933–1935, manufactured by the rare producer Gustav Reinhold Grah, Solingen (rarity 4/5). The lower crossguard bears the corresponding group mark “Wf” (Westfalen). The piece is offered together with an SA leather hanger.

Grip: Brown wooden grip in early configuration. The national eagle in nickel construction and the enameled SA emblem are neatly inserted, period-correct internally crimped, and without damage. The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamped with the group mark “Wf” (Westfalen).

Blade: Very well-preserved, double-edged blade. Obverse with the deeply etched SA motto “Alles für Deutschland”. Reverse with the manufacturer logo “Gustav Reinhold Grah, Solingen”.

Scabbard: Iron scabbard with preserved original bluing. The scabbard fittings are made of nickel-plated steel and secured on each side with two screws.

Hanger: Original late SA leather hanger made of brown leather. The functional snap clip is present. The leather is marked “RZM M5/8” and additionally stamped Assmann / DRGM.

Historical Classification: Early SA Service Dagger (1933–1935) & Group Mark “Wf”

The SA service dagger was introduced in late 1933 as the official sidearm of the Sturmabteilung (SA). Early examples from the period 1933–1935 are often characterized by high-quality workmanship, early grip and fitting features, and well-executed motto etching.

The group mark stamped into the lower crossguard served for organizational identification within the SA structure. The mark “Wf” represents the region Westfalen and is an important contemporary feature on early daggers.

Manufacturers such as Gustav Reinhold Grah, Solingen are considered comparatively scarce. The combination of a rare maker, early production period, matching group mark, and complete hanger makes such daggers desirable collector’s items.
