NSKK Gift Service Dagger [Early Production] with Expert Certificate by Wilhelm Kober & Co. Suhl

NSKK presentation service dagger in early production with reverse blade dedication “Für gute Leistung” and accompanying expertise by Ralf Siegert. The dagger was manufactured by the Suhl maker Wilhelm Kober & Co., Suhl. The lower crossguard bears the group stamp “Mi” for Mitte. According to the expertise, this dagger belongs to the first production period 1933–1935. The overall length is approximately 37.2 cm.

Grip: Brown wooden grip with inset SA emblem and national eagle in nickel finish. According to the available information, both emblems are internally pinned. The grip shows a warm, age-appropriate surface with normal signs of handling and storage. Crossguards, pommel nut and scabbard fittings are described in the expertise as nickel silver. The lower crossguard is stamped on the reverse with the group mark “Mi”.

Blade: Double-edged blade with the well-known motto “Alles für Deutschland” on the front side. The reverse side bears the etched dedication “Für gute Leistung”. Below the dedication is the maker marking Wilhelm Kober & Co., Suhl. According to the expertise, the blade was formerly affected by rust pitting and was later polished. The blade shoulders fit cleanly against the lower crossguard. The blade tip is preserved.

Scabbard: Black lacquered iron scabbard with nickel silver fittings. The fittings are each secured laterally with two small screws. The upper fitting has the carrying ring for the hanger. The number 13054 is stamped on the throat fitting, which according to the expertise may represent a membership number. The black scabbard lacquer shows age-related carrying and handling traces; on the reverse side, the lacquer is worn in places.

Expertise: The dagger is accompanied by an expertise from Ralf Siegert, dated 15 June 2026. The expertise assesses the dagger as an example from the first production period 1933–1935. Form, construction and material features are compared with documented original examples. The overall condition is rated in the expertise as good. The expertise is included with the item, but is not embedded as an image in this description.

Special Features: The reverse dedication “Für gute Leistung” identifies this NSKK service dagger as a presentation or performance-award dagger. Together with the early maker Wilhelm Kober & Co., Suhl, the group mark Mi, the stamped number on the throat fitting and the accompanying expertise, this is a well-documented example from the early production phase of NSKK service daggers.

Historical Background: Early NSKK Presentation Service Dagger

The NSKK service dagger is based in its general form on the SA service dagger and was worn by members of the National Socialist Motor Corps. Early examples from the production period 1933–1935 often still show higher-quality materials such as nickel silver fittings and individual maker markings.

Presentation and performance-award daggers occupy a special position within this category of edged weapons. They were not merely standard service daggers, but could be fitted with additional dedications or inscriptions. The reverse blade dedication “Für gute Leistung” refers to such an award or recognition context.

The group stamp “Mi” stands for the regional group Mitte. Such group markings are an important feature of early service daggers and allow a regional attribution. The additional stamped number 13054 on the throat fitting is interpreted in the expertise as a possible membership number.

The maker Wilhelm Kober & Co., Suhl was among the producers of early service daggers. Suhl, alongside Solingen, was an important center of German arms and edged weapon production. This dagger combines early production features, a personal dedication and accompanying expert documentation into a historically significant collectible object.
