Army Officer’s Dagger with Hangers & Portepee by F.W. Höller Solingen
Army Officer’s Dagger Model 1935 with hanger and portepee, manufactured by F.W. Höller Solingen. The dagger has an overall length of approximately 39.0 cm and represents the classic configuration of the German Army officer’s dagger with white grip and oak leaf decorated fittings. The piece is offered complete with hanger and portepee.
Grip: Typical round grip with double-twisted fluting made from white celluloid. The fluting is convex in form and gives the grip the characteristic appearance of the Model 1935 dagger. The conical pommel is firmly screwed onto the tang and decorated with twelve oak leaves. At the lower end of the grip is the typical decorative grip ferrule with six aligned oak leaves. The crossguard features the Army eagle, facing left, with downward-curved wings. In its claws, the eagle holds a wreath with swastika. Age-related wear and patina are present.
Blade: Double-edged blade in age-appropriate condition with fully preserved tip. The reverse side bears the etched maker mark “F.W. Höller Solingen”. Between the blade shoulders is the original leather buffer washer. The blade displays a period surface with age-related storage and usage traces.
Scabbard: The scabbard is constructed from drawn sheet steel and displays the typical granulated surface texture on both front and reverse. Fitted with a throat fitting and two oak leaf decorated suspension bands, each with movable, fully closed suspension rings. The throat piece is separately inserted and secured by a screw on the reverse. The scabbard tip is rounded and free from visible dents.
Historical Background: Army Officer’s Dagger Model 1935

Characteristic features of this model include the light-colored fluted grip, the Army eagle crossguard and the oak leaf decorated fittings. Depending on the manufacturer, numerous variations exist in materials, production and fine details.
