SS Honour Dagger [H. Himmler] by Carl Eickhorn Solingen
Exceptionally rare SS Honour Dagger with full H. Himmler dedication, early production 1933–1935, manufactured by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen.
This rare version with the complete inscription by Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler ranks among the most sought-after edged weapons of the Third Reich.
Grip: Made of black ebony wood, featuring the enamelled SS rune emblem and a finely detailed national eagle in nickel silver.
Both emblems are original, firmly fitted, and pinned from the inside. The grip screw is undamaged.
The fit between the grip and the crossguards is precise. Lower crossguard stamped with the assembly number “0”.
All fittings made of high-quality nickel alloy (nickel silver).
Blade: Double-edged and preserved in original condition.
The obverse bears the SS motto “Meine Ehre heißt Treue” (My honour is loyalty), deeply and cleanly etched.
The reverse shows the complete dedication “In herzlicher Kameradschaft H. Himmler” (“In heartfelt comradeship, H. Himmler”).
The ricasso bears the maker’s logo Carl Eickhorn, Solingen with the typical squirrel trademark.
Minor contact marks from the scabbard, otherwise very well preserved.
The blade shoulders fit perfectly into the lower crossguard.
Scabbard: Original steel scabbard with blackened surface, free of dents or deformations.
Both fittings made of nickel-plated steel sheet, each secured by two side screws.
Upper fitting with suspension ring for hanger attachment.
Historical Context: Himmler Honour Daggers
SS Honour Daggers bearing the personal dedication of Heinrich Himmler are among the rarest edged weapons of the Third Reich.
They were produced between 1933 and 1935 in a very limited quantity and were presented exclusively to selected SS leaders.
While standard SS daggers feature the motto “Meine Ehre heißt Treue” (“My honour is loyalty”), these special presentation examples
also carry the full reverse inscription “In herzlicher Kameradschaft H. Himmler”.
Only a small number of authentic examples are known to survive today, making them exceptionally rare.
The production was carried out exclusively by the firm Carl Eickhorn, Solingen;
no other manufacturers are known for this dedicated variant.
An original Himmler dagger by Eickhorn with complete inscription and matching components is considered
a highly prestigious centrepiece of any advanced collection.
