SA Honor Dagger [14/II/86] by Carl Wüsthof Solingen
This SA [Sturmabteilung] Honor Dagger in EXC+ condition. Model 1933. The total length is 37.1 cm. Early Nickel fittings, lower guard with "Nm" stamp. Dagger with Inscription: Dem Sieger SA-Sturm 14/II/86 16.8.36. Maker mark on the blade: Carl Wüsthof Solingen.
Grip: The grip is a beauty. It is of High Ridge construction and in Mint condition. The SA runes button is nicely placed, while the nickel grip eagle is fully detailed throughout. It is the style with the upward pointing beak. These guards have excellent smooth surfaces, with well-defined edges and sharply cut accent grooves. The lower reverse guard is gruppe marked “Nm”.
Blade: The blade is in exc+ condition. The SA motto is crisp and deep. The reverse ricasso is etched with the firm's name and location, “Carl Wüsthof Solingen” contained with ovals. Dagger Inscription: Dem Sieger SA-Sturm 14/II/86 16.8.36 (The winner SA-Sturm 14 / II / 86 16.8.36).
Scabbard: The scabbard shell is a fine example. A few minor age spots are visible in the finish, but overall it is a pretty nice example. The scabbard mounts are of solid matching nickel, in good condition.
