Navy Officer Dagger [2nd Model] by WKC Solingen

This 2nd Model German Naval Dagger (Ger.: Kriegsmarine Offiziersdolch) is in EXC+ condition and with one-piece hanger. The maker mark is by WKC Solingen.

Grip: The grip is tightly wrapped with twisted brass wire. The crossguard has good detail to the fouled anchor center block. Acanthus leaves decorate the surfaces of both of the crossguard arms, and they end in nipple-centered buttons.

Blade: The blade of this example is in EXC+ condition. The reverse ricasso is deeply stamped with the knighthead trademark. The firm's initials are stamped below, WKC Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie. Solingen.

Scabbard: The scabbard is straight throughout and has an excellent hammered finish. This finish is nicely set off by the straight-across bands. These bands feature overlapping oak leaves with acorns in between and show only mild wear. The eyelets have the hammered finish.
