SA Dagger [Early Version] with 3-Piece Hanger by Hugo Servatius Solingen

Extremely rare example of an early production SA service dagger, manufactured by the very rare maker Hugo Servatius, Solingen. Daggers by this manufacturer are considered major rarities within early SA production and are known to exist only in very limited numbers (rarity 5/5). This example is offered complete with an early 3-piece hanger and case.

Grip: Slightly darker brown wooden grip fitted with an inset nickel silver national eagle and enamelled SA emblem, both originally crimped from the inside and untouched. The crossguards are made of solid nickel. The lower crossguard bears the matching original group marking “P” (Pommern), as documented for early examples by this maker. The SA eagle and emblem have never been removed.

Blade: Double-edged, bright blade with fully preserved crossgrain. The obverse features the deeply and sharply etched SA motto “Alles für Deutschland” in crisp, angular execution. The reverse bears the rare maker mark Hugo Servatius, Solingen. The blade shoulders fit precisely and stress-free to the lower crossguard – an important quality indicator.

Scabbard: Straight steel scabbard with preserved original brown anodised finish, free of dents or deformation. Nickel-plated steel fittings, each secured with two side screws. The upper fitting is equipped with the ring for the hanger.

Hanger: Early 3-piece SA leather hanger with hook, unmarked – typical of the first production phase. Strong brown leather with original, fully functional snap clip. Buckle and hook are made of nickel-plated steel. Completely original and in excellent condition.

The maker Hugo Servatius, Solingen is among the rarest known producers of SA daggers. The extremely limited production makes pieces by this manufacturer top-tier collector items within advanced collections.

The present group marking “P” (Pommern) is documented for early daggers by this maker and represents an authentic period identification. The combination of an extremely rare manufacturer, early production, original 3-piece hanger and very fine condition gives this dagger exceptional collector significance.
