Luftwaffe Dagger [M1935] by David Malsch Steinbach
This 1st Model Aluminum Luftwaffe Dagger is in EXC+ condition throughout. Model 1935. The total length is 49.1 cm. The Dagger has the maker mark on the blade: David Malsch Steinbach.
Grip: The crossguard arms extend downward in three segments, giving the look of a pair of wings in flight. The grip is of carved wood and is covered in Moroccan leather. This leather has good grain and is tightly wrapped with wire.
Blade: The blade of this piece is a 308 mm example. This beautiful blade is with the David Malsch Steinbach trademark. The blade is protected by leather blade buffer.
Scabbard: The scabbard shell is as straight. The satin aluminum scabbard mounts are also perfect. They show no signs of wear and have beautiful finish, being retained by headless side screws which are in-placed. The matching aluminum chain is also a real beauty. It is equipped with 6 upper and 8 lower ringlets, the rig being attached to a fine aluminum snap clip. This snap clip retains the original lacquer over the finish and is marked “OLC” and “GES GESCH” on the reverse.
