German Army Officer’s Dagger with Hangers by PUMA Solingen
Army Officer’s Dagger, Model 1935, manufactured by the well-known maker PUMA, Solingen. Total length: 39.8 cm. The dagger is offered complete with portepee and hanger.
Grip: The grip is round with double-twisted fluting, made of orange Trolon, with the flutes convexly curved outward. The conical pommel is firmly screwed onto the tang and decorated with twelve oak leaves. At the lower end is a grip ring adorned with six oak leaves in a row. The crossguard depicts a Reichsadler (imperial eagle) facing left, with wings elegantly sweeping downward, clutching in its talons a wreath with swastika.
Blade: The double-edged blade is mirror bright and fully preserved. The tip is 100% intact and unshortened. The reverse bears the etched maker’s mark “PUMA, Solingen”. Between the blade shoulders and the lower crossguard, the original leather buffer pad is present.
Scabbard: The scabbard is crafted from drawn steel with a granular surface texture on both sides. It has a mouthpiece and two suspension bands decorated with oak-leaf ornaments, each with fully closed movable rings. The tip is rounded and undamaged. The mouthpiece is separately inserted and secured at the back with two screws.
