Army Officer’s Dagger with Hangers & Portepee by F.W. Höller Solingen
Army Officer’s Dagger, Model 1935, manufactured by the renowned maker F.W. Höller, Solingen. Total length: 39.8 cm. The dagger is offered complete with portepee and hanger.
Grip: The grip is round with double-twisted fluting, made of white celluloid with convex outward curves. The conical pommel is firmly screwed onto the tang and decorated with twelve oak leaves. At the lower end of the grip is a decorative grip ring adorned with six oak leaves in a row. The crossguard features a Reichsadler (imperial eagle) facing left, its wings flowing downward in elegant scrolls, holding in its claws a wreath with swastika.
Blade: The double-edged blade is well preserved. The reverse bears the etched maker’s mark “F.W. Höller, Solingen”. Between the shoulders of the blade, the original leather buffer pad is still in place.
Scabbard: The scabbard is crafted from drawn steel with a granular surface texture on both sides. It is fitted with a mouthpiece and two suspension bands decorated with oak-leaf ornaments, each with a fully closed movable ring. The mouthpiece is separately inserted and secured at the back with a screw. The tip is smoothly rounded, undamaged, and free of dents.
