SA Dagger with 3-Piece Hanger [Early Version] by Geb. Heller Marienthal

This early SA [Sturmabteilung] Dagger is in Near Mint condition and with 3-piece Hanger. Model 1933. The total length is 37,3 cm. The Dagger is with dedication and has the maker mark on the blade: Geb. Heller Marienthal.

Grip: The grip of this dagger is a light color fruit wood with Medium Contour construction. It is still nice and crisp throughout; it fits the guards perfectly. The SA runes button is nicely placed on the grip, and is uncleaned. The nickel “High Neck” grip eagle is also in fine condition, with full detailing present in the bird's head, breast and wing feathering, talons and wreathed mobile swastika.

Blade: The blade is a real beauty, in mint condition with a needle-like tip and 100% crossgrain. The dark motto is perfectly etched and retains 100% of the original background darkening. The reverse ricasso of the blade has the trademark of the Heller Brothers firm. It consists of the name and location of the firm “Geb. Heller Marienthal”. The blade shoulders perfectly meet the lower crossguard contour.

Scabbard: The scabbard shell is straight throughout. This shell has dark brown anodizing, which still appears to all be in place. The original lacquer still appears to be over the surfaces, showing some age, and a few signs of wear. The nickel scabbard mounts are also in fine condition. These mounts are retained by all four original nickel screws, which are all in place. The upper mount is with dedication: H. Hoitsch 1935. Attached to the upper hanging ring is a three piece hanger. The leather matches throughout the short hanger, retainer loop and belt loop. It is still supple and in excellent condition. The hardware on the snap clip is in fine, bright condition. The “D” ring is a nickel-plated steel example. The retain loop has a good working snap.
