Navy Officer Dagger [2nd Model] with Knot and Hammered Scabbard by WKC Solingen

This 2nd Model Naval Dagger is in EXC+ condition, with Knot and Hammered Scabbard. Kriegsmarine model 1938. The maker mark is stamped by WKC Solingen.

Grip: The grip is tightly wrapped with twisted brass wire. The crossguard has good detail to the fouled anchor center block. Acanthus leaves decorate the surfaces of both of the crossguard arms, and they end in nipple-centered buttons.

Blade: The blade of this example is in good condition. The obverse ricasso is deeply stamped with the knighthead trademark. The firm's initials are stamped below, WKC Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie. Solingen.

Scabbard: The scabbard is straight throughout and has an excellent hammered finish. This finish is nicely set off by the straight-across bands. These bands feature overlapping oak leaves with acorns in between and show only mild wear. The eyelets have the hammered finish. The throat is retained by two flush mounted side screws.
