This Double Proof Hitler Youth Knife with Motto shows some age. Model 1936-1938 [Mid-period]. The total length is 25,5 cm. The Knife has the maker mark on the blade: E.&F. Hörster Solingen and RZM M7/37 [Robert Klaas Solingen].

Grip:  The grip plates are the early, finely checkered Bakelite type. They are in perfect condition, being retained by nickel rivets with dressed obverse heads. The enamel HJ insignia is in perfect condition throughout.

Blade: The blade of this knife is a nice example. The HJ motto etch is deep, with background darkening. This blade is the mid-period type that has a ricasso. The reverse of the blade is marked with loge of the Hörster firm; with the firm's name and location, “E.&F. Hörster Solingen” to the right. The ricasso is marked with a RZM circle placed next to the code “M 7/37” - Robert Klaas Solingen. The leather blade buffer is replaced.

Scabbard: The scabbard shell has good, original black paint. This paint has a few mild age spots spread evenly throughout the surface, but overall this paint is at least 95% intact. Attached to the scabbard is an excellent leather hanger. The leather is still supple and is marked with an oak leaf and the superimposed initials “LFS” on the reverse.
