Cavalry Saber M1881 (Kingdom of Saxony) by P.D. Lüneschloss Solingen. Issued sabre is very heavy construction. The spine of the blade is flat, with a long deep fuller on the steel blade. Blade is with Maker Mark by P.D. Lüneschloss Solingen. Sabre have a wooden grip. The grip is rivited on the sides to large tangs at the centre which protrude off of the back-strap (the steel back of the grip). The scabbard on this example shows some wear and has a durable silvered iron body, magnetic, two suspension rings protruding from the wrap-around loops.
