Historical Context: Allach, Award Plaques & Munich 1938
In addition to figurines, vessels and decorative objects, the Allach Porcelain Manufactory also produced plaques and awards for competitions and public events. Such items were intended as representative honors and were often manufactured in limited quantities.
The Flower Decoration Competition Munich 1938 formed part of municipal initiatives aimed at enhancing the appearance of the city. The present plaque for the second prize was awarded as a wall plaque and documents both the competition itself and the contemporary approach to design and symbolism.
The combination of unglazed Allach porcelain, clear inscription, reverse prize designation and the original Allach manufactory mark makes this plaque a collector-worthy and historically relevant example of competition and award culture of the period.
