The Cutlass Model 1711 represents one of the most prestigious hunting sidearms of the
German Hunting Association (Deutsche Jägerschaft, DJ), which from 1934 acted as the central authority
for all hunting activities in Germany. Such edged weapons served both as symbols of rank and as part of the official uniform.
The firm Carl Eickhorn, Solingen was one of the leading producers of fine hunting weapons,
offering several models ranging from utilitarian field variants to
luxurious presentation pieces like this Model 1711.
Typical features include delicately engraved animal scenes, silver-plated mounts,
and the use of genuine stag horn grips.
