Hunting Cutlass with stag horn grip and etched hunting blade, manufactured by E. & F. Hörster Solingen. The piece is dated to approximately 1930 and features a single-edged, hunting-themed etched blade, a stag horn grip and the corresponding scabbard. The overall length is approximately 507 mm, with a weight of approximately 618 g.
Grip & Hilt: The grip is made of stag horn with clearly visible natural texture. Several applied hunting-themed decorative elements are fitted to the front of the grip. The hilt has a yellow-metal-colored finish and features a curved crossguard as well as a shell-shaped guard plate.
Blade: Single-edged, bright blade with decorative hunting-themed etching. The blade surfaces show ornamental and hunting motifs. The ricasso area bears the maker marking E. & F. Hörster Solingen. The blade shows age-related traces.
Scabbard: The scabbard has a black covering with yellow-metal-colored fittings. The upper scabbard fitting is decorated with a hunting-themed element. The scabbard is preserved together with the hunting cutlass and shows age- and use-related traces.
Condition: The hunting cutlass is in overall condition 1-. Grip, hilt, blade and scabbard are preserved. The natural structure of the stag horn grip and the etched blade decoration remain clearly visible. The piece shows age- and use-related traces.
