Early Hitler Youth Knife with Motto - Carl Eickhorn Solingen

This early example shows the early wear and tear that we usually see on Hitler Youth knives. At any rate, the hilt is a fine steel type having excellent nickel plated surfaces. The nickel plating is still in near 60% condition. The grip plates are the early black checkered Bakelite type and they are retained by nickel rivets having dressed heads on the obverse. The Hitler Youth insignia still wiggles and is in excellent condition to the bright colors of the enamel being red, white and gold with black swastika. The scabbard of this example shows quite a bit of wear to the paint. This paint is about 70%. At least the scabbard is straight, however. The scabbard is equipped with a still serviceable black leather hanger. The hanger has the retainer strap with a good working snap. The early blade is the style without ricasso. This blade has turned gray and shows quite a bit of age with some very minor sharpening just along the edge. The blade only grades at good. The reverse ricasso area is stamped with the maker’s name, location and logo Carl Eickhorn Solingen. Beneath this is the registered design stamp (Ges.Geschützt).
