SA Dagger with Hanger, German - Ernst Pack & Sohne Solingen
Uncleaned Early SA Dagger with Wood Grip & Hanger. Ernst Pack & Sohne, Solingen, Siegfried wielding hammer above Solingen. Nickel-silver hilt fittings show dark-age patina with reverse lower crossguard group marked, with partial strike Nm (Nordmark). The medium-brown, fine-grained, cherry-wood grip shows faint surface wear with fine furniture age toning, no cracks, has a surface scuff across the center obverse (scuffed area has aged the same as the remainder of the grip), but no cracks, chips or depressions, and features early production quality grip-to-crossguard fit. The grip is complete with silver grip eagle and SA insert perfectly inset. The afore mentioned scuff crosses the grip eagle, but has not marred the detail. Early mirror polished blade, showing light runner marks and a few minor gray specks near obverse tip, but no pitting or nicks to cutting edges and no damage to blade tip. Deeply-etched motto retains 100% of the light gray background frosting. Dent-free, steel scabbard retains approximately 95% of the brown anodization, showing light surface wear with a small surface scratch on the upper obverse and portions of factory lacquer remaining. The nickel-silver scabbard fittings show light surface wear/age patina with a few tiny pecks to the lower fitting and a depression to the lower ball. The brown leather hanger grades EX showing wear/age to leather, but no rips or tears, and complete with early nickel-silver buckle and upper clip. Nice dagger with "fine furniture" age toned cherry-wood grip.
