SA Dagger with Siegert Expertise [Early Version] - Christianswerk, Solingen
This early Christianswerk SA Dagger is fitted with early nickel crossguards and tang nut which are still in outstanding condition. The lower reverse crossguard is gruppe stamped, Nrh - Niederrhein. The grip is a fine colored mahogany wood having nice subtle graining throughout. This grip is of medium contour construction and is in perfect condition. The SA runes button is nicely placed and has all of its enameled surfaces. The nickel grip eagle is the high-necked variety. This bird still has all of its details to the bird’s head, breast feathering, wing feathering, talons, wreath and mobile swastika. The scabbard of this example is straight throughout. The scabbard mounts are in good condition. These mounts have their original solid nickel screws which are unturned. The original short hanger is still attached to the upper ring. This hanger has excellent serviceable brown leather and its mounts are the early nickel type featuring the long snout type clip. This hanger nicely matches the patination throughout the rest of the dagger. This blade is completely bright throughout and has all of its crossgraining. The SA motto is nice and deep and crisp having very fine frosted backgrounds rating at 100%. This blade is in near mint condition. The reverse ricasso is etched with a double ellipse. The ellipse contains the firm’s name and location, Christianswerk Solingen. Inside is the three pronged meat fork that is used as a logo. The blade shoulders perfectly meet the lower crossguard contour. An expertise by Ralf Siegert is also included.
