MSVN Fascist Leader's Dagger [M1937] - Italian

MSVN Model 1937 Italian Fascist Dagger. This MSVN (Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale) example is in good overall condition. Total length 34,5 cm.

Grip: The Dagger features the standard hilt of aluminum. The pommel employs the head of a reptilian looking bird looking to the right. The front and backstraps travel downward to a crossguard which flares upward to a quillon end. Set into the aluminum are two bake-o-lite black flush mount grip plates. The obverse grip plate has the fascist insignia set into it. This gilded brass insignia features a group of tied sticks with an axe sticking out the right side. The reverse has a brass screw which retains the insignia.

Blade: The blade is an extremely fine chrome plated example being in full mint condition. It has a good needlelike tip and is fashioned with a short ricasso, single cutting edge and false edge that runs about halfway back the upper spine.

Scabbard: The scabbard shell is straight throughout. This shell has good original paint which does have some spidering in the surfaces and a small rub spot just below the lower carrying band. Overall thought this paint is about 95% and still has its original factory shine. The lower chape has most of the original brass plated surfaces with the copper base coat showing only on the lower ball. The scabbard is equipped with brass carrying bands and eyelets with matching carrying rings. There is no chain for this scabbard.
