Air Force Officer’s Dagger [M1932] by Meszaros Lajos Budapest, Hungary Kingdom
This Royal Hungarian M1932 Air Force Officer’s dagger is in EXC+ condition. The total length is 36.5 cm.
Grip: The handle is made of ebony, cylindrical, with deep longitudinal grooves. The head of the handle is cast brass, in the form of an eagle's head turned to the left. The solid brass sleeve is slightly conical, decorated with longitudinal grooves and serves for fastening the parts of the cross pin. The cross consists of two brass bars of oval cross-section with symmetrical snail-shaped roundings at the ends. The front part has a bronze figure of an eagle spreading its wings. On the reverse side there is a latch button for fastening the dirk in the scabbard.
Blade: The blade is steel, straight, has a flat heel at the hilt, then - four-edged, without lobes, smoothly tapering to the point.
Scabbard: The scabbard is brass, repeats the shape of the blade. On the front side in the cartouche there is an image of the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Hungary. The scabbard is decorated with geometric ornamentation and has two rings for attaching the harness straps.
