Imperial Russian M1927 cossack army shashka

Soviet star is engraved on the bird's head pommel. The swords of this pattern were issued to the imperial cossack armies. The blade shows following Russian markings. Brass mounts of the hilt. Plain, slightly curved blade with several Imperial Russian proof marks. Spiral wood grip. Brass mounted, leather covered hardwood scabbard without provision for a bayonet (correct for cossack shashkas). Overall length in scabbard: 95 cm. The wooden grip is slightly worn, but overall still in good condition. The blade is in uncleaned condition with some light polishing and sharpening marks. Some darker spots on the blade. The brass parts of the hilt are well preserved.
