Fireman’s Short Bayonet by Eickhorn Solingen

This Fireman’s Short Bayonet has a near Full Mint outside. The hilt plating is as nice as you will see still having its original factory sheen and being 100% throughout. The crossguard has the traditional curvature with the left quillon pointing upward and the down right quillon pointing down. The grip plates are the black checkered variety and they are in perfect condition. These plates are retained by nickel rivets which have dressed heads on the obverse. Attached to the scabbard is an outstanding conditioned leather frog. This frog is also in a full mint state.

The short style blade is a beauty having outstanding nickel-plated finish. This mint conditioned blade is marked on the obverse ricasso with the name of the distributor. The name is in an arch shape over the location city, “K. Negel Tübingen” and reverse with maker: Carl Eickhorn Solingen. The original brown leather blade buffer is in place.
