SA Dagger [Early Version] by HCH. KROM München

This early SA [Sturmabteilung] Dagger shows some age. Model 1933. The total length is 37,3 cm. The Dagger has the very rare maker mark on the blade: HCH. KROM München with Gau Ho.

Grip: The all nickel mounts are in good condition throughout, having good smooth surfaces, and precise accent grooves. The lower reverse crossguard is Gruppe marked Ho - Hochland (Bavaria). The Krom company varnished their grips. The grip is of medium to high ridge construction, and it still remains in EXC+ condition. The runes button is nicely placed.

Blade: Unfortunately the blade of this example is in EXC condition. The company logo is on the reverse ricasso, being double round circles, which enclose the firm's name and location HCH. KROM München. Note that this trademark is from Munich and not Solingen! This maker is rated as a 5/5 on the rarity scale. The blade shoulders perfectly meet the lower crossguard contour.

Scabbard: The scabbard shell is straight throughout. This shell has new brown paint. The nickel scabbard mounts are also in good condition. These mounts are retained by all four original nickel screws, which are all in place.
