German Bayonet 84/98 knife bayonet by Elite-Diamantwerk [S/173G], the steel blade is 251 mm, it is complete with it's original steel scabbard. Scabbard and blade marked with 4609 b. The general condition is EXC+.

This Seitengewehr 84/98 III bajonett S.173G (G means year 1935) is made by Coppel GmbH, Solingen and not Elite Diamant, in S serial uses Elite Diamond number S.185 (all S serial used from 1934 - 37) K means 1934 and G means 1935 and 1936 - 1937 is only number like S.173. From 1937 - 41 used all manufacture name like Coppel G.m.b.H. - Coppel GmbH (aka Alcoso), Solingen, Alcoso or AWS marking on comercial or police contracts bayonets on bajonets and from 1941 - 1944/45 used code maker on bajonets like fnj Alexander Coppel Gmbh, Solingen and in 1944 used year like 44fnj Alexander Coppel GmbH.
I am a collector of these beautiful bayonets and therefore know something about them, such as codes, decision maker, manufactures. I hope it\'s okay for me to report your mistake on this S. 173G bayonet.
