French Officer Cavalry 1822 Sword
This French Cavalry Sword / Sabre is a heavy model 1822. A magnificent almost untouched example of this rare French Heavy Cavalry Sword. This is the curved bladed heavy Cavalry model with a 4 branch brass hand guard. The Curassier, who were regarded as the heaviest of the Cavalry Regiments, carried straight bladed four-branch brass guarded Swords. Marked on the back of the blade "manuf. Rle du Klingenthal Juin 1825", blade with perfect full leather grip cover and full brass wire binding. Matured Brass mounts with armorer's stamps in exc++ condition. All in original all steel scabbard with two hanging rings as was correct for that period.
