Original Navy officer dagger with hammered scabbard. Model 1938th. 2nd Model Navy Dagger with hangers and portepee. EICKHORN ORIGINAL, SOLINGEN stamped TM. Gilded brass hilt fittings show almost no wear/age patina to highlights and features Eickhorn pattern eagle/swastika pommel and fouled anchor crossguard with the larger quillon block found on Eickhorn examples. The off-white celluloid-over-wood grip, as used by Eickhorn, shows minor surface wear with no visible cracks or chips and is complete with tight twisted brass wire wrap as used by Eickhorn. Plated double-etched blade, showing only minor surface wear/runner marks primarily to the obverse and reverse ricasso but, no nicks to the cutting edges. Blade is complete and retains 99% of the light gray background frosting in the fouled anchor and floral motif etch pattern. Gilded brass hammered scabbard retains approximately 99% of the factory fire gilding. Dagger is complete with original gold bullion portepee and shows minor fraying.
