Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled and ribbed arms, the obverse bearing a central raised German nationale eagle set within a circular oak leaf wreath, the reverse bearing a central wreathed inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN ZOLLGRENZSCHUTZ” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN BORDER PROTECTION”), unmarked. Total weight 23 g. Dimensions: 43.78 x 47.36 mm.
