SS Honour Dagger H. Himmler – RZM M7/36 [Collector’s Reproduction]

Well-preserved collector’s / museum reproduction of an SS Honour Dagger H. Himmler from the 1960s. The dagger bears the mark RZM M7/36 – corresponding to the historic manufacturer E.&F. Hörster, Solingen. It is a high-quality reproduction made according to the known dimensions and appearance of original pieces.

Grip: The grip is made of black plastic, typical for collector and museum reproductions of the 1960s. Its shape and contour are based on the ebony grips found on original SS daggers. The crossguards are made of white metal and are neatly fitted.

Blade: The double-edged blade features the decorative inscription “In herzlicher Kameradschaft H. Himmler”, known from historical presentation and honour daggers. The blade is in good condition, without major damage or corrosion. The blade surface and finish correspond to typical 1960s reproduction manufacture.

Scabbard: The scabbard is covered with genuine leather and fitted with decorative metal mounts. Its shape closely follows that of original SS scabbards, including the correct contours of the upper and lower fittings. The leather surface and finish are in well-preserved condition.

Historical context: SS Honour Dagger & Himmler dedication

The SS Honour Dagger with Himmler dedication is among the most symbolic edged weapons awarded within the Schutzstaffel. Original pieces were presented in small numbers to selected functionaries. The inscription “In herzlicher Kameradschaft H. Himmler” is well documented in specialist literature.

From the 1950s and 1960s onwards, the first museum and collector reproductions appeared, produced – like the example offered here – on the basis of historical originals. These reproductions were mainly intended for exhibitions, film productions, collectors and museum displays.

Such pieces still have their place in many collections of military history today, as they reflect the design and symbolism of the originals without touching the monetary or historical relevance of authentic daggers.
