SA Full Rohm Honor Dagger [Ernst Röhm] by Carl Eickhorn Solingen

Early SA Honor Dagger (Ernst Röhm) featuring the full dedication inscription on the reverse blade, manufactured by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. This example represents an early production with nickel fittings and a matching group marking “Ho” (Hochland) on the lower crossguard.

Grip: Light-colored wooden grip of early type with a correctly fitted nickel national eagle featuring the characteristic long neck. Above is the enameled SA insignia, properly internally crimped. Both crossguards are made of nickel. The lower crossguard is stamped on the reverse with the group mark “Ho” (Hochland).

Blade: Double-edged blade in excellent condition, mirror bright without rust or damage. The obverse displays the deeply etched SA motto “Alles für Deutschland”. The reverse bears the complete Röhm dedication “In herzlicher Kameradschaft Ernst Röhm”. Below is the maker’s mark Carl Eickhorn Solingen with the early squirrel trademark.

Scabbard: Steel scabbard with glossy original blued finish. The scabbard fittings are made of nickel-plated steel and secured by two side screws each. The upper fitting retains the suspension ring.

Historical Background: SA Honor Dagger with Röhm Dedication

The SA Honor Dagger was introduced in 1933 as a special distinction within the Sturmabteilung (SA). Early examples were engraved on the reverse blade with the personal dedication of SA Chief of Staff Ernst Röhm.

After the events of 1934, many of these daggers were altered or the dedication removed. Surviving pieces with the complete Röhm inscription are therefore considered particularly desirable collector variants among SA edged weapons.

The combination of early manufacture, nickel fittings, regional group marking, and intact dedication makes such examples historically significant and highly collectible.
