Grip for SA/NSKK Dagger with eagle & emblem
Well-preserved grip for an SA / NSKK service dagger in classic configuration. The grip is made of carefully finished wood and matches the original period examples in shape, contour and proportions. A sensible replacement part for restoration, completion or as a reference piece for collectors.
Grip body: Wooden grip with clean overall form and a coherent surface appearance. It shows light, age-consistent handling wear without affecting the solid base condition. The execution is even throughout and suitable for typical SA / NSKK dagger assembly.
Eagle & emblem: The inset national eagle is neatly fitted and fully preserved. Above it is the enamelled SA / NSKK emblem, correctly and period-typically crimped from the inside. Both inserts are coherently seated and are key indicators when evaluating the condition of the grip.
Use: Ideal for restoration or completion of an original SA or NSKK service dagger, for example where the original grip is damaged or missing. Also of interest to collectors and restorers as a reference and spare component.
Historical Classification: Grip components for SA / NSKK service daggers
The SA service dagger (introduced in 1933) and later the NSKK variants are among the most widely collected dagger types of the period, with the grip featuring eagle and emblem being a key identifying element. Shape, contour, and correct fitting of the inserts are important criteria when assessing originality and condition.
Preserved original grip components are especially relevant for collectors and restorers, as many daggers suffered damage, losses or improper repairs over the decades. A coherent grip can therefore contribute to an appropriate completion, provided the remaining dagger components are period-correct and matching.
For advanced collections, grip components can also serve as reference pieces to study materials, inserts, crimping and workmanship in detail.
