Army Officer's Dove Head Sword (Model Wrangler Nr. 1693) by Carl Eickhorn Solingen
Wehrmacht Army Officer’s Saber (Wrangler Model No. 1693), manufactured by the renowned maker Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. A fine, high-quality example in very good condition.
Grip: The grip is black celluloid over a carved wooden core, wrapped with triple-twisted brass wire – all intact. The crossguard features a raised eagle with outstretched wings, richly hand-detailed on chest, head, feathers, talons, wreath, and swastika. The hilt is solid brass with an excellent gilded finish. Additional floral decorations adorn the pommel, backstrap, grip tabs, and “P”-guard. The ferrule is embellished with raised oak leaves. The guard is stamped “GES. GESCH.”
Blade: The blade is beautifully nickel-plated, measuring 85.3 cm, and remains in very good condition. The reverse ricasso is stamped with the maker’s mark “Carl Eickhorn, Solingen”. The original leather buffer pad is present and well fitted.
Scabbard: The scabbard is straight, with about 98% of the original factory finish remaining. It shows only minor wear and retains much of its factory gloss.
