Imperial Model 89 Cavalry Sword with Dedicated Blue Panel
This German 17th Imperial Model 89 Cavalry Sword with Dedicated Blue Panel is quite a lightweight weapon.
Grip: The grip of the sword is the traditional black Bakelite, with ribs, and having no wire wrap. The nickel is in fine condition throughout this hilt. The hilt is in the traditional Model '89 Cavalry design. It is of all nickel, and has a basket featuring a Brunswick lion.
Blade: The blade is 81 cm long. It is still bright and has double etching which is highlighted in blue. The obverse blade has floral etchings around a large blue panel. The bluing to the panel is still in first-rate condition.
Scabbard: The scabbard is a straight example and painted black. The scabbard is fitted with one ring carriage.
