Cash on Delivery (COD) – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Quick note: COD is available only if it appears as an option at checkout. An additional COD fee (charged by the carrier) applies. Please have the full amount ready; depending on the carrier, payment may be in cash or by card.
Availability & requirements
▶ When can I choose COD?
If COD is shown at checkout, it is available for your destination, basket value and chosen shipping method. Otherwise, this option is currently not available.
▶ Countries, services & limits
COD is typically limited to selected countries and carriers. Amount limits and parcel size/weight limits may apply.
What happens at delivery
▶ Pay at the door
The carrier collects the total due incl. the COD fee. Depending on the service, cash and/or card payment is possible. Please prepare exact amounts where feasible.
▶ Not at home?
Depending on the carrier there will be a second attempt or the parcel is deposited at a pickup point/locker. Payment is then due upon collection.
▶ Open before paying?
Opening before payment is generally not possible with COD. Your statutory right of withdrawal remains unaffected.
Fees & limits
▶ What does COD cost?
In addition to the shipping fee, a COD surcharge is charged by the carrier (and, where applicable, a pickup/collection fee). The exact amount is shown at checkout.
▶ Maximum amounts & split payments
Maximum COD amounts apply per shipment. Splitting across multiple payment methods is usually not possible with COD.
Changes, cancellation & refunds
▶ Switch to COD after ordering?
Usually not possible once the order is placed. Please contact us before dispatch via the contact page.
▶ Refused / uncollected COD
Undelivered COD parcels are returned to us. After receipt, we refund the goods value minus incurred shipping/return fees according to the terms & conditions.
▶ Refunds after returns
Refunds are issued to the original payment method or by bank transfer after inspection of the returned goods. See our right of withdrawal.
Security & further notes
▶ ID/age check
The carrier may require an ID or age check. Please have a government-issued photo ID ready.
▶ Packaging & discretion
We ship with secure, discreet packaging. For unique items, specific handover rules may apply (appointment coordination).
