German Red Cross Leader Dagger with Hanger and Portepee

Red Cross Officer's Dagger with Hanger and Portepee. No maker. Nickel-plated hilt fittings show minor surface hazing but, no loss of plating, and with superb detail to the Red Cross emblem on the obverse langet. The slotted, recessed pommel nut shows no damage to the slots and no indication of ever having been removed. Dent-free nickel-plated scabbard shows minor speckling to the edges of the shell and to the Red Cross pattern suspension bands with square holes but, no damage to the pebbled panels. The scabbard throat is retained by two, side-mounted dome-head screws which appear to be unturned. The original, standard 42cm aluminum portepee shows minor age/wear with no fraying to cord or acorn and is tied in a three-wrap knot often found on Red Cross Officer's daggers. Nice Red Cross combination.
