Early 1st Model Luftwaffe Dagger [M1935] by Emil Voos Solingen

This Luftwaffe Dagger [First Model] is in Near Mint condition. The total length is 49.4 cm. Blade with Maker Emil Voos Solingen.

Grip: The grip is of hand carved wood covered in dark blue Moroccan leather. This leather is still in very fine condition throughout. This grip is tightly wrapped with triple strands of fine brass wire, the center strand being twisted. The pommel is in choice condition, showing little (if any) signs of wear and with full silvering between the legs of the sunwheels. The same is true of the crossguard sunwheels. The original gilded brass finish of the sunwheels are is in terrific condition, and sits in stark contrast against the darkly patinated silvering.

Blade: The blade is a truly fine example, with highest quality nickel-plating, mirror-bright and with a fine, needle-like tip. The reverse ricasso is stamped with Emil Voos Solingen trademark. The original blade buffer is intact and in place.

Scabbard: The scabbard shell is straight throughout. This scabbard is also covered in matching blue Moroccan leather. The silvered solid nickel scabbard mounts are also in Near Mint condition. All scabbard mounts are decorated, reverse is with Initial LJ - 1939. The mounts are retained by headless flush mounted screws. The solid nickel chain is in fine condition. The chain has the usual nine upper and fourteen lower links and are connected to an unmarked snap clip.
