This 2nd Model Naval Dagger is of finest quality, and remains in very choice condition showing little wear. Kriegsmarine model 1938. The maker mark is stamped by Original Eickhorn Solingen. Overall is a great example.

Grip: This Eickhorn 2nd Model Naval Dagger is in excellent condition. The brass based and gold gilded hilt and proud kreigsmarine eagle pommel are both beautifully detailed. The hilt and scabbard match in color, condition and patina. The wood based, white celluloid covered grip looks great. No cracks, chips or splits. Just the odd mark. The double twisted brass wire wrap remains tightly intact.

Blade: The dark and crisp acid etched fouled anchor blade on this one looks great! The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The stamped “Original Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark is also beautifully executed! The blade on this one rates an Exc++. It shows age greying throughout. The brown felt buffer pad continues to remain intact.

Scabbard: The scabbard features the lightning bolt motif having palmettes above and below the bands, with lightning bolts, ermine feet and acanthus leaves at the lower area. The bands have the overlapping oak leaves with acorns and the eyelets have the triple serrated surfaces showing only modest wear. The throat is retained by two dome head brass screws which are unturned..
