Single-Etched Infantry Short Bayonet by Original Eickhorn Solingen

This Single-Etched Infantry Short Bayonet in EXC+ condition. The Bayonet is with the maker mark Original Eickhorn Solingen.

Grip: The grip plates are in perfect condition, being the black checkered type. There are retained by steel rivets with dressed obverse heads. The nickel hilt plating on this bayonet is remains excellent throughout, on reverse is the hilt damaged. The mortise button and blade lock work well.

Blade: The blade has a fine fuller. This blade is bright throughout and is in mint condition. The obverse has the seldom seen Pattern #3220, an Infantry design. The center are has two ribbons with the standard remembrance surrounded by oak leaves. At the bottom is a Wehrmacht eagle and swastika, and at the top is a wreath of oak leaves and acorns. Over the wreath is set of crossed K98 rifles and a superimposed helmet. The frosting is perfect in the backgrounds, nicely accented the raised portions of the etch, The reverse is stamped with a typical example of the 1935-41 Eickhorn Squirrel trademark, and the original blade washer is in place.

Scabbard: The scabbard is straight throughout. The paint is still excellent and nearly 100% intact, with the original factory brightness. The attached patent leather frog is in very nice condition, showing only mild attic crazing.
