SA Dagger [Early Version] by Robert Giersch Solingen

This SA [Sturmabteilung] Dagger in EXC+ condition. Model 1933. The total length is 37.2 cm. Early Nickel fittings, lower guard with «Nm» Northern March stamp. The Dagger has the maker mark on the blade: Robert Giersch Solingen.

Grip: The mounts on this example are all solid nickel. The lower crossguard is Gruppe marked, “Nm”. The grip is a fine furniture-like wood having a pleasing grain running lengthwise. This grip is of medium contour construction and is in fine condition exactly meeting the crossguards. The SA runes button has good enamel and is perfectly placed. This eagle is in fine condition throughout having full details to its head, eye, breast and wing feathering, talons, wreath and mobile swastika.

Blade: The blade is in EXC+ condition. The SA motto Alles für Deutschland «Everything for Germany» is crisp. The ricasso area still has the full trademark: Rob. Giersch Solingen. The blade shoulders perfectly meet the lower crossguard contour.

Scabbard: The scabbard shell is a fine example, having just about all of the original anodized surface. The scabbard mounts are of solid matching nickel, in fine condition with just a minor ding to the bottom of the lower ball.
