Collecting military memorabilia, especially from the Third Reich period, has become increasingly popular both at home and abroad. For a long time the author has been fascinated by edged weapons of the Storm Troops (SA) and National Socialist Motor Corps (NSKK). Having first established a website dedicated to the edged weapons of these organisations, he then decided to write a book exclusively in German that would fill a gap in the market of specialist military publishing.

In his book, he presents the readers with meticulously researched facts about a "mass product", i.e. the dagger of the SA and NSKK. The book arounds in hundreds of black-and-white and color pictures, photographs of the daggers "in wear", trademarks of over 240 manufacturers and Reich Patent Office documents which have never been seen before.
