This Alcoso early productin Army example is in about the finest condition you will find, and it is of very high quality production. The dagger has 100% of the silvering all of. The pommel cap is the typical Alcoso type having the smaller neck area which gives it a fine flare-out up to the rim area. The rim is totally perfect as is the beautiful smooth top area of the pommel. These pommels are equipped with fourteen oak leaves and acorns running around the edges. Each and every one of these oak leaves has been hand enhanced. The crossguard is also in great condition. Most of these Alocoso crossguards tended to wear easily and it is rare that the head details still remain on the eagle. In the case of this dagger the eye and beak are still well defined. The breast and wing feathering is good as are the talons, wreath and raised swastika. A very fine Alcoso guard here. The grip is a most appealing deep orange remaining in perfect condition. The grip may be just the slightest bit darker toned on the reverse. The scabbard is the earlier style Alcoso that has the very close pebbling to the panels. This beautiful scabbard is in near mint condition. These carrying bands have outstanding overlapping oak leaves all with hand enhanced veins. The throat is retained by two untouched flatter head side screws. These screws will be the style that have very small bore typical of Alcoso. The blade of this example is mint. It is mirror bright having all of its graining and an exceptional needlelike tip. It consists of a set of scales having the firm’s initials ACS interspersed.The original large style leather washer is in place.
