Luftwaffe Dagger [1937] by Ernst Pack & Söhne (Siegfried), Solingen

This 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger, produced by Siegfried (EPS), is in EXC+ condition overall. Model 1937. The total length is 42.6 cm. The Dagger has the maker mark on the blade: Ernst Pack & Söhne (Siegfried), Solingen.

Grip: The grip is an attractive orange color which is basically uniform throughout, and is wrapped with tight, springy wire. The pommel is a beauty. The oak leaves that surround the swastikas on both sides are nicely detailed, particularly in the area where the leaves meet the center ridge of the pommel. The crossguard depicts an eagle flying to the left, clutching a mobile swastika. There is only very slight wear to the breast area of this bird. The oak leaves at the top of the guard is the incised type.

Blade: The blade is a beauty, having a mirror finish throughout. It shows only the most minor signs of age, but still remains in Near Mint condition. The blade appears to nickel plated. The reverse ricasso has the large trademark which features the “Siegfried Waffen” above and below the logo. The logo features the eponymous hero hammering away within an arch that contains the firm's name and location. The dark pebbled leather washer is in place.

Scabbard: The scabbard is also a generic variety. It has toned to the same color as the hilt mounts. The bands feature a design of fine looking oak leaves set at a 45 degree angle. The scabbrd throat is the thicker style, and is retained by a single screw.
