SA Dagger [Early Version] by Carl Schmidt & Son Solingen

This early SA [Sturmabteilung] Dagger is in EXC+ condition. Model 1933. The total length is 37,4 cm. The Dagger has the maker mark on the blade: Carl Schmidt & Sohn Solingen.

Grip: Nickel-silver hilt fittings show light wear with reverse lower crossguard marked “BO” for Bayreuth Eastern march. Reddish-brown, fine-grained wooden grip shows light surface wear and with silver grip eagle and SA insert properly inset.

Blade: The blade is a real beauty, in near mint condition with 100% crossgrain. The dark motto is perfectly etched and retains 100% of the original background darkening. The reverse ricasso of the blade has the interesting trademark of the Carl Schmidt firm, in a circle with a house TM. The blade shoulders perfectly meet the lower crossguard contour.

Scabbard: The scabbard shell is straight throughout. This shell has dark brown paint, which still appears to all be in place. The nickel scabbard mounts are also in fine condition. These mounts are retained by all four original nickel screws.
