SS [Schutzstaffel] Dagger in early Version. Modell 1933. The dagger is in EXC++ condition throughout. This early SS Dagger is with the Maker Gottlieb Hammesfahr Solingen-Foche. A very nice factory ground Rohm SS dagger here, with SS mann serial number.
Grip: This grip fits the crossguards. The dagger having solid nickel cross guards. The reverse lower cross guard is district marked with the Roman numeral, "III" for Berlin. The guards are nice and smooth throughout. The ebony grip is in good condition. The SS runes are nice and silvery, with matching double circles around them. The SS serial number, 36549, is stamped into the lower cross guard. The wood of the SS Dagger’s grip has retained all of its deep black color.
Blade: The blade of this example is still in EXC++ condition. The motto Meine Ehre heißt Treue «My honor is loyalty» is crisp and deep. The reverse ricasso is marked with the Gottlieb Hammesfahr Solingen logo. The blade shoulders perfectly meet the lower cross guard. The Rohm inscription has been factory ground, from tip to guard
Scabbard: The scabbard shell is in good condition with black paint. The throat is a nickel example, whereas the upper and lower mounts are nickel-plated. These mounts are in nice condition, still having bright plating throughout. These mounts are retained by nickel screws. There is a short black hanger is around the carrying ring. The leather on this hanger shows some usage and some age, but it still appears sound and is complete with the small retainer loop. The hanger hardware is nickel-plated, and the snap clip is unmarked.
