SS Chained Dagger [M1936] with Type-B1 (II) Chain

The SS Chained Dagger is in EXC+ condition with Type-B1 (Ralf Siegert) and Type-II (Thomas Wittmann) chain. Model 1936. This chain has never been cleaned and is equipped with the type II chain. It is interesting to note that the original owner also stamped his serial number on the guard, “182949”.

Grip: The crossguards and pommel nut are solid nickel. The reverse of the lower crossguard is with numbered reading: “182949”. The black hardwood grip is in good condition. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed, has an excellent fit. The SS roundel retains 95% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit.

Blade: The unmarked blade is a nice example. The dark, acid etched “Meine Ehre heisst Treue” motto is textboot. The crossgraining continues to display quite nicely throughout. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is tight and set right against the crossguard.

Scabbard: The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard on this one looks great. It shows some age- The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great matching the crossguards in color, patina and age wear. All five screws remain intact. The chain is the early Type II - T. Wittmann or B1 - R. Siegert nickel based version featuring all of the correct attributes. The chain links show wonderful detail to the skulls and SS runes. The correct first upper link is clearly “SS” proof marked. The clip looks great and works well.
