SA Dagger [Early Version] by F. Herder A. & S. Solingen

This SA [Sturmabteilung] Dagger in near mint condition. Model 1933. The total length is 37.2 cm. Early Nickel fittings, lower guard with «Nrh» stamp. The Dagger has the maker mark on the blade: F. Herder A. & S. Solingen and is with certificate and etui.

Grip: The grip is very fine, showing no usage and with High Contour construction. The SA runes button is nicely set. This fine looking bird retains full detailing throughout the head, breast and wing feathering, talons and wreathed mobile swastika. The lower reverse guard is Gruppe marked, «Wf» Westphalia.

Blade: The blade is in MINT condition. The reverse is marked “F. Herder A. & S. Solingen”. The blade shoulders perfectly meet the lower crossguard contour.

Scabbard: The scabbard shell is also a beauty. It appears to have a brown painted surface as opposed to being “anodized”. There are occasions on which we do see the use of brown paint. This paint remains intact, with just a little modest wear on the reverse. The scabbard mounts have a matching patination and are all in perfect condition. The four original screws are all in place.
